English Version (英文心得)
Hi! I’m a 24 year-old woman from Taichung, Taiwan. I decided to study at MESLS in Madison, Wisconsin to improve my English. While studying in Taiwan, I got an undergraduate diploma in tourism, and English is a very useful language to know for my career!
Deciding to go to MESLS was a difficult choice. At first I was looking at schools in Los Angeles, but I decided that if I went to MESLS it would be better because there are too many Taiwanese people in Los Angeles. The temptation to just speak Chinese would be too high.
I can say for sure that I made the right choice! I have had a lot of opportunities at MESLS not only to improve my English, but learn about American life and culture and to make American friends. Madison is a lot different from Taichung, but I think that living in such a different city has given me a lot of invaluable experience to help me throughout my life. I have had experiences that I will never forget! Including snow and winter, haha >.< Cold, but so much fun!
I think the best thing that I’ve gotten out of MESLS is what they offer right there in the name: English as my second language. I can now speak so much better than when I got here that my friends and family cannot believe it. Americans that I met when I arrived here who have talked to me recently are stunned. When I got here my English was, I’ll be honest, super BAD. Now, though, I think it is fair to say my grammar and vocabulary are 500% better, at least. Even my knowledge of slang has improved! Four months ago, I could not have written this well in English at all, but now I am confident that my English abilities are enough to help me get any job. It’s all thanks to MESLS.

Hi，我是住在台中的 Blairs，我今年 24 歲，我決定 2011 年 4 月前往 MESLS 去學習 8 個月以增進我的英文能力，學校是位於美國中部的威斯康辛州的麥迪遜市。我於台灣時是畢業於觀光科系的，所以英文對我的工作而言是非常重要的第二專長。
對於前往 MESLS 加強我的英文能力是一件很難抉擇的選擇，一開始我是尋找位於洛杉磯的語言學校，但是最後我決定前往 MESLS 應是對我比較好的選擇，因為實在太多台灣人在洛杉磯就讀，那將會使我使用到中文的機率大大的增加，並不利於我的英文學習。
現在我可以很肯定的說，前往 MESLS 果然是非常正確的選擇，在學校我得到許多的機會，不只是去改善並增強我的英文能力，我更是有很多機會去融入了解美國的在地生活以及文化，更結交了許多的美國朋友。
麥迪遜相對於台中是非常不同的城市，我相信我居住在這完全不同的城市裏可以讓我得到更多不同珍貴的生活經驗，讓我的人生有更多不同的體驗。我真的只能說在此學校我得到了我此生永不忘懷的經驗。包含了美國的雪以及冬天，哈哈哈 >.< 超冷的，但是也非常有趣喔!
我想在 MESLS 我得到最好的禮物就像是學校的名稱一樣 (Madison English as a Second language school)，現在我可以說出一口流利的英文了，這件事連我的家人與朋友們都覺得不可思議，連我一開始到這邊認識的美國人都覺得很驚訝於我的進步，因為我必須誠實的說當我初到這邊的英文真的是超級”差”的。
現在，我想我的文法以及單字有了 500% 很大程度的進步了，至少，連我的美國俚語都有了改善，幾個月前，我還無法將此學習心得用英文的模式寫得很好，但是現今我有信心，我的英文能力已經足夠我去獲得任何需要英文能力的職位，這些我都需要去感謝我的語言學校”MESLS”。
